Director Jan Powell
Jan Powell directs a staged reading of Infidel by David Neipris. The reading begins at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 22, at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue, 4th Floor, Studio 401, NYC.
Jan was the founding artistic director of the innovative Tygres Heart Shakespeare Company at the Center for the Performing Arts in Portland, Oregon, then served as artistic director of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival before relocating to Richmond, Virginia as Producing artistic director for Richmond Shakespeare. She is a past president of the international Shakespeare Theatre Association. Her most recent work includes the role of Helen in a musical Night of the Living Dead at Lincoln Center and direction of Titus Andronicus in Dayton, Ohio.
A proud member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA, and AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists), Jan was recently an assistant professor of theatre at Randolph-Macon College, and she is an ongoing resident associate artist with Richmond Shakespeare. She is also the owner of JP Public Speaking & Communication.
