Alumni Playwrights
Each year, Broad Horizons invites playwrights to submit scripts for its new-plays series, called New Voices, New Plays, New York. Out of the many submissions we receive from around the world, we select those that demonstrate strong potential for engaging audiences; embody our commitment to distinctive voices, styles, and points of view; and incorporate innovative approaches in making theatre. Selected plays undergo a development process that culminates in a staged reading performed for a live audience in New York City. In this way, the company encourages and supports playwrights in developing their plays and brings professional recognition to their talent.
Following is a list of the plays Broad Horizons has selected for its development process and the playwrights who wrote them. Soon, each one will be linked to its own profile page where you can learn more about the play, playwright, and development process. Click on any available link to see that playwright's profile page.
