Broad Horizons welcomes submissions
of new works, including plays, adaptations, translations, performance
pieces, and musicals. Selected scripts will undergo a developmental
process, which includes:
• One-week workshop in New York City
with proposed schedule, as below.
• Day One, rehearsal with director
and cast
• Day Two, working day for re-writes
• Day Three, rehearsal with director
and cast
• Day Four, working day for further
re-writes
• Day Five, final rehearsal (afternoon)
and performance (evening) for invited audience. Audiences often include
industry professionals.
• Casting by Cindi Rush Casting.
All actors professional, working actors, based in New York City.
• Pre-workshop response and suggested
re-writes from company producing artistic director, Lewis Magruder,
in consultation with company literary manager Dorothy Chansky and company
dramaturge Mark Dundas Wood.
Writers must be able and willing to engage fully in developmental process,
including re-writing parts of the script where appropriate, traveling
to New York for rehearsals and performances, and responding constructively
to feed-back.
There is an administrative fee of $15 per script, checks payable to
